So, it doesn't hurt to use terrain & positioning to control the number of opponents you're fighting simultaneously. Like many BB's, she can be "farmed for damage" by rapid-firing HE projectiles or get "focus fired" upon by multiple opponents. The Mutsu's speed is excellent for a Tier-6 Battleship and if you keep her armor angled properly, then she's pretty good at bouncing AP projectiles. Overall, the torpedo launchers are an asset to the Mutsu and I like them. The downside is that they can be incapacitated or destroyed, sometimes at the most awkward moment possible. The Mutsu's 20 second torpedo reload time is nice, and the 7 km range is better than a US Navy DD's 5.5 km torpedo range. The torpedoes, as you've correctly deduced, are situational.īut, they're pretty good at supplementing one's main-gun salvos and sceondary battery fire during close-quarters engagements. In random battles, the principle of "don't show one's broadside" still applies in most situations. I play mine like a plus-sized DD when in Co-op and sometimes in Scenario Operations. Do I play her like Nagato with just situational torps or is there something else I should know about her? From what I've heard about her so far, she's a tier 6 stock hull Nagato with worse shell pen and torpedoes. I've just got her out of a super container.
